My Story: Just an Immigrant from Nairobi Kenya to a 7 Figure business owner

With over 100+ million in loans funded, I have decided to tackle a new mission in which to educate and train brokers how to start and build a successful business loan agency.

With over 100+ million in loans funded, I have decided to tackle a new mission in which to educate and train brokers how to start and build a successful business loan agency.

Where it all started:

I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I started my first business at the age of 16 fixing people’s computers. I have always had a passion for computers. The name of my business was Geeks R Us. I was competing with Geek Squad which was a computer repair service offered by Best Buy (A famous retail electronic store.) After this, I tried a few other different businesses which also failed.

Finding work during a global recession was extremely difficult. So, I resorted to doing odd jobs such as picking up trash after football games or concerts. I have even worked temporary construction gigs through temporary staffing agencies where you get paid the same day.

After dead-end jobs and being fired three months following the birth of my first son Kylin, I decided I needed to figure something out. I was fired from the last real job I ever had. My boss said something to me that stuck with me forever. He looked me straight in my eyes and asked, “Brian have you ever thought about starting your own business?” Up until this point I had failed in so many businesses that I had never thought about it. Him asking this gave me affirmation that I needed to actually take a chance again. I got fired on August 24, 2011, and on August 25, 2011, Pennington Consulting Group was started.

When you can remove the focus from yourself and have an "others-focused" mindset, the burden is off of you to make everything perfect. Just do your best to help people! And in return, your business doesn’t have to take over your life – instead, it can serve you as much as you’re serving others! With this mindset and tenacious attitude daily, I started attracting clients and generating income.

I now am raising my three amazing boys and aside from helping clients impact their own lives by starting, growing, or expanding their businesses, they are my why. I want to leave a great legacy for the next generation in my family.
